What your exam includes
- Visual exam of the face, neck, and jaw
- Soft-tissue check — lips, gums, tongue, palate, and cheeks
- Oral cancer screening
- Bite and jaw-joint (TMJ) evaluation
- Gum and bone health assessment
- Tooth-by-tooth check for decay, cracks, and wear
- Digital X-rays when clinically needed
About your cleaning — an honest note
Not every visit includes the same type of cleaning — and we’ll never pretend otherwise. A routine prophylaxis (polishing and tartar removal) is right for healthy mouths. If we find gum disease, you may need periodontal therapy instead. Your exam determines what’s actually needed, and we’ll explain exactly why before anything happens.

When X-rays are needed, ours are digital — a fraction of the radiation of film, with instant, highly detailed images that reveal decay, bone loss, and infection long before they cause pain.

How often should you come in?
For most people, every six months. If you’re managing gum disease or other conditions, we’ll personalize your schedule.
